Two days' outings from Polmanter Touring Park, St. Ives

 Monday 20th June

A great change in the weather after 2 very windy, showery days.  Beautiful sunshine,

so a good day for getting down into St. Ives the quick way - on the site bus - and then strolling around the town and eating our pasties on the seafront, but hugging them closely to avoid the greedy seagulls getting hold of them!  We saw one with some poor soul's sandwich!

Then we walked along the seafront

taking a rest above Porthminster Beach.

Looking back to St. Ives.
Then walked along the SW coast path to Carbis Bay.  Looking down on the train that we'd been on on Sunday.
The Carbis Bay Hotel together with it's memories of last year's G7.
A paddle down on the beach.

Our friend Clive came down to the beach to meet us, enjoyed ice creams together, then walked up and up to his and Sarah's house for cuppas.  (Sarah is away at present boogying at the IOW Festival - seeing them both later in the week.)  More uphill walking back to our campsite.

Tuesday 21st June

Another beautiful day for an outing.  Bus down to the town, then had to wait a while for the No.17 (one had been cancelled) to Penzance.  Photos from the bus stop.

After a good walk through the town centre, we found the Queens Hotel (white building) for lunch on the seafront, then walked along to Newlyn,
looking across to St. Michael's Mount on the way,

until we reached a point where the little Mousehole bus from Penzance met the seafront road.

That then took us on to beautiful Mousehole.  Perfect spot to sit on the harbour wall and enjoy the sunshine and the view.  I couldn't resist the urge for another paddle at the little beach below us.

A couple of WhatsApps with Jenny H. who'd been here last month, encouraged us to go over to Webbs  for ice creams.  She assured me that it's perfectly OK to have ice creams two days running!
Boarding the little pink bus back to Penzance.  Rather crowded as very popular and school was just out.  But everyone was very happy and I chatted with the schoolgirls and little brother Zack who were sitting on the step beside us.
Photo from the bus on the way back - Newlyn harbour and over to Penzance.
No.17 brought us safely back to St.Ives and a bask in the sun back 'home'.
